Kevin Miller credits the success of the Pittsburgh Network Office to the strong leadership provided by his Coaching Team.
Kevin Miller, CLU®
Kevin became a Field Director in Pittsburgh in 1996 and built his field unit into one of the top units in the country. Kevin joined Northwestern Mutual’s Home Office in November of 2004 and spent the next three years working within the Agency Department where his responsibilities were directly tied to growing and developing Northwestern Mutual’s field force.
On November 1st, 2007, Kevin was appointed the Managing Partner in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is only the seventh person to lead the Network Office since its inception in 1875. Under Kevin’s leadership, the Network Office has grown to over 100 Financial Representatives with over $20 Billion of insurance in-force, over $2.6 Billion of cash value and $2.3 Billion of Assets Under Management.
There are also three District Network Offices serving western Pennsylvania. They are located in Cranberry, Monroeville and Mt. Lebanon. Kevin and his team have been recognized by the Northwestern Mutual as multiple Growth, Team and Achievement Award qualifiers as well as by GAMA International as a Master Agency which recognizes the top 250 organizations in the industry.
Kevin is a board member of The First Tee of Pittsburgh, a trustee of Saint Francis University where he serves as the chair of the Development & Government Relations Committee. He is also a member of the Tocqueville Society of The United Way of Allegheny County. In 2014, Kevin and his associates raised over $150,000 for The United Way and were once again recognized as a top campaign within that organization. In 2015, Kevin chaired the Capital Campaign for Junior Achievement of Southwestern PA and was named Junior Achievement’s Alumnus of the Year.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys golfing, fishing and bird hunting.
Craig Fiedler is a graduate of Penn State University. After graduation he served in the U.S. Marine Corps for five years as an Artillery Officer and began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1994. Craig became part of the leadership team in 2001 as a Managing Director. Craig has grown the district agency to over 25 representatives. He is a lifetime member of MDRT in 1997, 2007 through 2015, and is a previous Top of the Table qualifier. Craig has also received the Life Impact award every year since 2000 and is an eight-time recipient of the OARS award which recognizes excellence in personal production in addition to successful coaching relationships.
Craig lives in Ligonier with wife, Alyce, their four children, Caroline, Henry, Grace and Lilley and their dog, Skye. In his spare time, Craig enjoys hunting, golfing and the occasional celebratory cigar.
As a Financial Advisor with Northwestern Mutual, Jamie Thomas takes pride in having the opportunity to run his own business and make an impact on the lives of others. He joined the Pittsburgh Network Office in 1996 after graduating from West Virginia University. Jamie states that his main attraction to the company was the similarity between the beliefs he holds and the moral foundation that Northwestern Mutual is built upon. It has always been a company built upon quality not quantity; a business based upon safety and value rather than size. Jamie Thomas reflects this same mission in his management and representative duties. In July 2005, he was appointed to the role of District Director where he oversees the recruiting and training segments of the Pittsburgh Network Office. In October of 2010 Jamie earned the CLU® from American College. In December 2011 Jamie became the Managing Director of the Cranberry Network District Office.
Jamie has earned the National Quality Award (2002, 2005, 2008-2010) and was a Qualifying Member of the Million Dollar Round Table (2003, 2005, 2009-2010, 2012-2015) on multiple occasions. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and has obtained his securities licensing. Jamie Thomas grew up locally in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, but currently, he lives with his wife Laura, and their two children Chase and Natalie, in the Cranberry area. In Jamie's free time, he enjoys an assortment of outdoor activities like golfing and hiking.
Ryan McKenna received his Bachelors of Science from Miami University of Ohio. He joined Northwestern Mutual upon graduation in 2005. In 2008, he took on his first leadership role as a College Unit Director. Ryan continued on the leadership path by become a Field Director in 2010. Ryan was a member of the 75 lives club in 2008-2009, and was in the Platinum Top 50 in 2009, which recognizes new financial representatives for their success.
Ryan lives and works in Mt. Lebanon. He is married to Erin and has two daughters, Charlotte and Audrey, along with 2 dogs and 2 chickens.
Ryan is the managing director of our South Hills Office, an MDRT member in 2013, 100 lives writer and consistent high new clients CFP/CLU. Ryan and his family enjoy all of the many family activities Pittsburgh has to offer, he is working on his golf game, is involved in a number of charitable organizations and is an avid reader.
Chief Development Officer
Peggy McCarthy Havenar joined Northwestern Mutual in November 1998. She started her career in the Scott Carr, DNO in Schaumburg IL as Director of Recruitment. After seven years and a variety of accomplishments with the Hoopis Financial Group and The Carr Group, Peggy went to the Home Office in October 2005. As a Field Resource Consultant, Peggy worked with Leadership Teams throughout the country, helping them with their recruiting, training, internship program, new representative development and leadership development. Peggy then transitioned back to the field, with the Pittsburgh Network Office in 2008. Since being in Pittsburgh Peggy has grown their college program from #57 on the Goal Post to #16. She does a variety of things focused on growth and development of new financial representatives.
As of January 2011 Peggy has become the Chief Development Officer for Northwestern Mutual- Pittsburgh, harboring responsibilities for the recruiting, training and development systems for our under five year representatives.
Recruiting Field Director
Ken Sinagra joined Northwestern Mutual after graduating from John Carroll University in 2004. In 2006 Ken joined the leadership team as a College Unit Director, and has since expanded his role to become a Field Director in 2008. He still holds this role, and is the Field Director in our Cranberry Office. Ken achieved Pacesetter First 40 in his first six months with Northwestern Mutual, and has since achieved 100 lives for numerous Awards and Calendar years. He became a member of the Million Dollar Round Table in 2013, while achieving membership again in 2015. Finally, Ken was the Field Director Category 5 Leader for the Eastern Awards Year in 2013 and again in 2014. Now, Ken focuses his practice in on Special Needs Planning, and working with engineers, accountants, attorneys, and small business owners. Ken grew up in Brookline, attended Central Catholic High School, and now lives in Cranberry Township with his dog, Buddy.
Recruiting Field Director
Kevin Yeargers is a graduate of Penn State University and joined Northwestern Mutual in 2004. Kevin began working with our internship program in 2008 as a College Unit Director. In January of this year he decided to increase his management impact by getting his Field Director contract. Additionally, Kevin maintains a strong personal practice. He was a member of the 75 lives club 2009-2010 and qualified for the Million Dollar Roundtable in 2009 & 2010. Kevin completed his first Tri-athalon last year in Washington, DC and you can find him on the golf course most weekends in the Spring and Summer.
Jon graduated from Pittsburgh Central Catholic HS in 1989 (co-captain of the first state championship football team in PA). After high school, he attended Thiel College, majoring in business and marketing. While he was there he was a 4 year letterman in football and golf.
Jon Started with Northwestern Mutual in 1993 and was ranked as high as #12 in the Nation for 1st year Financial Representatives. He decided to leave Northwestern Mutual for a marketing team with Anheuser-Busch Nationally. He then started with Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals, with the launch of Claritin as a Sales Representative. He was promoted multiple times through sales management, managed care, trade, marketing and senior sales management; and lastly with Meda Pharmaceuticals.
Jon came back to NM in Aug of 2011. Quickly hit pacesetter 40, Second 60, 100 lives, Million Dollar Round Table in 2013-2015 and Lives Leader Summit. Jon won the East Region #1 FR in the Gold.
Jon is now a Field Director who is building a dynamic team in Monroeville PA. Jon is married to his wife, Miriam, his best friend that he met in 7th grade. Jon and Miriam have two children. Jon is an avid golfer and member of Oakmont Country Club, and spends a lot of his time on multiple committees for Pittsburgh Central Catholic, Thiel College, Oakmont Country Club and coaching everything his children play.
Ed Haller is a Field Director for the Pittsburgh Network Office of the Northwestern Mutual. Ed graduated from Washington & Jefferson College with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He began his career with Northwestern Mutual directly out of college. Ed also recently received his CLU designation. The CLU designation is one of the highest levels of study in the life insurance profession. It helps Ed to provide a wider array of solutions for his clients' personal needs, including income replacement, estate analysis, and wealth transfer. He takes great pride in providing a higher level of service to his clients. Ed is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and currently resides in the South Side Slopes. In his spare time, Ed enjoys playing golf and squash, wakeboarding, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. He is also heavily involved in the community.
After attending the University of Pittsburgh, Chris LaPiana started as an intern at Northwestern Mutual in 2002. Since that time, he developed his business into an enduring financial services office specializing in life and disability insurance products. As a Field Director, Chris uses his internship and field experience to successfully lead and develop a unit of financial representatives into highly professional and successful individuals
Chris LaPiana is a lifetime resident of Pittsburgh, PA, and currently resides in Plum. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, golfing and spending time with his wife Dina and sons Luca and Nico. He is also a member of the Pittsburgh East Community Church and the Presque Isle Yacht Club.
Chris Pfanstiel started his career with the Northwestern Mutual as a sophomore at Washington and Jefferson College. Throughout his internship Chris earned many accolades including the Power of 10 Award (2009), Winter Camp Qualification (2008), and served as a Team Captain here in Pittsburgh. Chris also received the Pacesetter First 40 award. He is now a member of our LEADership team. Additionally, he now holds a position in management as a Field Director in our South Hills Office.
Chris continued his career with the Northwestern Mutual and began developing more specific niches. He earned his CLU® designation in May of 2012, his ChFC® in December of 2012 and most recently his CLTC designation in October of 2013. Chris now focuses primarily on personal planning analysis, but spends significant amounts of time working with tightly held businesses.
Sebastian was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Pittsburgh in 2001. He attended Duquesne University, and joined Northwestern Mutual in 2011. Sebastian achieved Pacesetter 40, and the Bronze, Silver and Gold New Financial Representative Awards within his first years in the business. In 2015, Sebastian was appointed Field Director in the Downtown Office. As a Field Director, Sebastian is responsible for leading and developing a unit of financial representatives. Sebastian believes the keys to success are hard work, having systems, and staying positive at all times. In his spare time, Sebastian enjoys boxing, traveling, running, and spending time with his fiance Kelly, his family and his friends.
Mike Corcetti grew up in Export, Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Kiski Area High School. Mike graduated from Pitt Johnstown in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and was a 4 time NCAA All American wrestler.
Prior to graduating, Mike started with Northwestern Mutual as an intern in 2007. After graduation and his successful internship, he began to build his practice in Monroeville, PA. he hit Pacesetter first 40, led the agency in new clients in 2011, and qualified for Fastrack Sales School in September 2011. Because of Mike’s passion for coaching and leadership, he became a College Unit Director in 2012, and then later became a Field Director in 2014.
Mike’s favorite past time is spending time with his wife Lindsey and sons, Silas and Louden at their home in Penn Trafford. He also enjoys coaching wrestling at Franklin Regional High School and Young Guns Wrestling Club along with hunting.

Dawn Yeagers is a graduate of the University of Dayton. Upon graduation, she joined Northwestern Mutual of Pittsburgh as an Executive Assistant to the previous Managing Partner. Dawn then moved to Dallas, Texas where she was the Director of Recruitment for MetLife for 3 years. Dawn came back to the Northwestern Mutual office in May of 2010 as the Director of Recruitment and Selection. Dawn is part of multiple Pittsburgh Sports League teams along with other co-workers from the office. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Director of Internship Development
Ashley Cheetham graduated from West Virginia University in 2008 with her B.A. in Communication Studies. After graduation she spent two years in New York City where she worked in professional staffing as well as advertising and event planning. She moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA and began working as the Campus Recruiter in December 2010. As the Campus Recruiter for Northwestern Mutual-Pittsburgh, she helps college students learn more about our Top Ten Internship program. Through campus recruitment she gives students the opportunity to learn how our internship can provide them with real life hands on experience within the financial services industry. In 2011, Ashley began her work as the Director of Campus Recruitment, where she oversaw all of intern recruitment and brand recognition on local campuses. Most recently Ashley, has moved into the Director of Internship Development role. She focuses on campus recruitment, the internship selection process, intern training and development, and working with new financial representatives on leadership development within the internship program.
Andrea Eshenbaugh, M.S.Ed.
Director of Training
As the Director of New Financial Representative Development, Andrea Eshenbaugh is focused on providing new Financial Representatives a strong foundation for success. She oversees the onboarding & training program for new hires, as well as works with the leadership team and staff to provide continuing education & development opportunities to our Financial Representatives. Andrea provides skill development & growth opportunities for our coaching staff as well.
Originally joining Northwestern Mutual from 2003-2007 as an Associate Financial Representative in the Pittsburgh office, Andrea went on to teach high school business and computers in the greater Pittsburgh area until re-joining Northwestern Mutual as part of the Training & Development team in 2011. Andrea brings her varied experience in business & teaching to the robust Training & Development offerings within our agency.
She has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Ohio University, as well as a Masters of Science in Business Education from Robert Morris University. Andrea is from the Wexford area & currently lives in Bradford Woods with her husband, Don, & daughter, Cara.
Brian Froehlich, CLU®

Brian joined the Pittsbugh agency in November 0f 2009. After a eight year career in Retail Banking he spent several years with a South Hills investment firm as Director of Operations where obtained his 6, 63, 7 and 65 Securities Licenses.
Since joining the Pittsburgh Agency Brian has grown and developed the network office's program providing sales support to 23 Financial Representatives at various levels, in addition to overseeing the network office's Northwestern Mutual Investment Services Operations Department. . Brian has obtained his Series 9 and 10 Licenses and is the agency’s back up compliance officer.
Maggie joined the Northwestern Mutual -Pittsburgh Network Office in August 2010 as a member of the Recruiting Team. Maggie is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Degree in Science and Technology/Marketing. After graduation, she interned at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Management Trainee. She then worked for TEAM Enterprises as a Lead Brand Ambassador until 2010 when she joined the Northwestern Mutual. As a recruiter, Maggie is responsible for facilitating the process of attracting, selecting and retaining financial representatives for the Pittsburgh Network Office.
Born and raised in Derry, PA, Maggie now resides in the Mount Washington area of Pittsburgh.
Alyssa Minichiello began her career with Northwestern Mutual in September 2012. She graduated from Penn State University in 2006 and has moved around a lot since then. Her favorite place she lived was Malaga, Spain. She lived there for 9 months while she was an English teacher for grades 1-4. While it was nice living a block away from the beach, she was excited to return to the United States and the four seasons.
After a few more moves, Alyssa got married this past July, and returned to her hometown of Pittsburgh. She couldn’t be more excited to be back in Pittsburgh permanently, and to be a part of an excellent recruiting team at Northwestern Mutual. She now lives in Lawrenceville, and loves trying new restaurants and spending time with her friends and family.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Laura graduated from Grove City College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. Laura started her career with Northwestern Mutual as a Recruiter in the Eastern Division Office in Monroeville right after graduation. As a recruiter, Laura is responsible for facilitating the process of attracting, selecting and retaining financial representatives for the Pittsburgh Office. She is passionate about growing the Network Office alongside the Management Team and loves the city of Pittsburgh where she lives and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Casey Stanton joined Northwestern Mutual in November of 2012. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Casey moved to Pennsylvania 7 years ago to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and play basketball. She graduated in 2012 with a Communication and Media degree and is really excited about getting started with Northwestern Mutual as the Recruiter for the South Hills office. One of her biggest initiatives with getting the office started is to create a solid summer internship program and to form a larger young professional networking group within the South Hills.
Casey specializes in recruiting interns, recent college graduates, and career changers for the financial representative position. She is also heavily involved in networking and presenting at career fairs.
Brandi Cheetham is a graduate from West Virginia University where she majored in Psychology. Shortly after college, she pursued her M.Ed. in School Counseling at California University of Pennsylvania. Brandi began her educational career as a substitute high school Guidance Counselor, and she worked for an Alternative Education Program.
Brandi joined Northwestern Mutual in January of 2013 as a member of the Sales Execution Team for the South Hills District Office. She assisted Financial Representatives who are in their first two years of the business by providing administrative sales support and managing client cases. Brandi transitioned as the Training and Development Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Network Office in July of 2013. Brandi is a Certified Trainer who is committed to providing high quality curriculum to new Financial Representatives by managing the onboarding process as well as the full time training programs. Outside of the training environment, she serves as an activity coach to support new Financial Representatives reach their activity and production goals. Brandi is licensed in the following: Life, Accident and Health, Series 6, and Series 63.
Director of Network Office Supervision
Jerry Sciulli a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and joined Northwestern Mutual in 1996. He has been the Director of Network Office Supervision since the compliance/supervision program began. Jerry was also one of the original members of the DNOS Advisory Committee. Jerry currently holds his Series 7, 9, 10, 51, 63, and 66. Jerry resides in Shaler with his daughter Isabella.
Kristen joined Northwestern Mutual in November of 2002. She has had numerous roles during her career at Northwestern Mutual. She was our Recruiting Coordinator, Managing Partner Executive Assistant, Office Move Project Manager and is now currently the Technology Coach.
Kristen has her BSBA from Robert Morris University and her Master of Science in Organizational Studies from Robert Morris University.
Kristen lives in Peters Township with her husband Geoff and their son Kyle, daughter Lauren and dog Kasey. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and being an active member of the Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club where she serves on the Silent Auction Committee.
Karen Anderson has been working with Managing Partner, Kevin Miller, as his Executive Assistant since April of 2009. Prior to working with Kevin, she worked as a Sales Assistant for a Financial Representative. In addition to handling the daily operations of Kevin's office, Karen also enjoys planning events and meetings for the agency and working closely with the Recruiting team. Karen is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and lives in the North Hills with her husband, David and their dog, Barrett.
